Services
Five things, done thoroughly. Engagements are scoped as one-off projects or ongoing retainers, depending on whether you need something fixed or something watched.
Network assessment & documentation
A discovery pass across the network to establish what is actually connected, followed by written documentation that survives staff turnover.
- Layer 2 and layer 3 discovery — switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and what is plugged into them
- Topology diagrams and a device inventory with model, firmware, and location
- VLAN, subnet, and DHCP scope documentation
- A prioritized findings list: what is broken, what is risky, what is merely untidy
Monitoring & alerting
Monitoring that tells you about problems before your users do, without generating so much noise that it gets ignored.
- Device up/down, interface health, throughput, and error-rate monitoring
- Service and certificate expiry checks
- Alert routing and threshold tuning to keep false positives down
- Dashboards for the handful of metrics that actually predict trouble
Wired & wireless deployment
Specifying, installing, and configuring network hardware — and writing down what was done.
- Switch and router configuration, including VLAN segmentation and inter-VLAN routing
- Firewall rule design and review
- Access point placement, channel planning, and SSID structure
- Guest and IoT network isolation
Backup & recovery
Backups are only real once they have been restored. Every backup we set up gets tested.
- Device configuration backup with version history
- Offsite and offline copies following a 3-2-1 approach
- Scheduled restore tests with written results
- Documented recovery procedure, written to be followed under pressure
Self-hosted infrastructure
For teams that would rather run a service themselves than rent it — deployed properly, with monitoring and backups included rather than bolted on later.
- Containerized service deployment and reverse proxy configuration
- TLS certificate issuance and automatic renewal
- Remote access without exposing management interfaces to the internet
- Log aggregation and retention
Not sure which of these you need? That is what the assessment is for. It is a fixed-scope piece of work and its output is a document you own, whether or not anything follows it.
